*Soberano
CM++, was a two times National Laureado Stallion,
Breeding and Pleasure, in Canada. His get and
grand get are among the most numerous and most titled
horses in the United States and Canada. He was
known for producing horses with tractability, smoothness
and great thread of gait. See more photos here.
|
Soberano's
sire, *Piloto, was well known in Peru before coming to
the USA at 15 years of age. In this country, he
was the primary breeding stallion of Thunderbird Ranch.
He was known for producing horses with longevity, strong
lower limbs, and huge brio (willingness to work).

article
titled
"Soberano -
Paso Llano Gateado"
(excerpt)
"Soberano, at
just three years, has shown us all the qualities we are
seeking in a Peruvian Horse. ... Soberano is the most
natural horse we have ever known. Even at liberty
in his paddock he displays his unique paso llano gateado.
Additionally, he has a well sprung, broad body, a short
back, fine skin and hair and exceptional carriage and
presence. These qualities with his gait, have
marked him as special since the day of his birth.
As a yearling, he was the 1980 Canadian National Reserve
Champion Junior Stallion. In 1981, he won his
halter class. ... Sr. Raul Risso presented to him the
Judge's Award for having the "most perfect gait" of all
the horses exhibited at the show. We are looking
forward to the 1982 show season...."

Soberano++
Was the Ideal Combination of Gait &
Strength
Double Laureado & Multi Best Gait Winner
Soberano++ sadly passed away August 1, 2002 of a
silent intestinal problem - lesions which did not cause
him pain. He was apparently healthy up till the
time of his death, quietly in the night. Soberano
++ was bred and owned by Crescent Moon Ranch. He
had stood at stud in California at Rancho Santa Vicenta
starting September 1999 and bred many quality mares in
his final years. This great stallion reliably
produced his gateado gait and wonderful strength in his
offspring. Fully half of his sons and daughters
over two years of age are champions. They also
have inherited his excellent brio and good mind.
